Sunday morning again, and it happens to be Easter today. I’ll be going to church very soon. Praise Jesus and his miraculous resurrection, hallelujah, amen.
I’ve included a picture of a (Easter) bunny I took at the fair last year. Yeah, it’s in a cage and is kinda depressing, but it is a bunny. There is probably a metaphor there somewhere.
I haven’t posted anything on this blog for a good while. I have been working on the website proper though. I totally scrapped everything I had and rebuilt it from the ground up. So far I just have a home/landing page and the blog. The blog posts all remained intact. I just am reworking the templates for the display of the blog posts and archive page. Understanding how that worked was information I learned after I created the previous versions, and I wanted something different anyway.
One step forward three steps back. I trashed a lot of work again. I’ve started over several times now. It is a little disheartening, but that work wasn’t great, so no big loss. On this iteration I’m much happier with the results, so far. I’m trying to narrow down the focus of what I’m putting out on the main page structure, and presenting an overall theme that isn’t too busy or trying to hard but still looks good and personal.
The blog post content will continue to be whatever I want whenever I think about it and decide to write it. I hope the layout and theme will be more concise. I’ve learned more about templates and themes and implementing those tools into the main project. I’m learning everything as I do it, and in probably most cases I’m learning it incorrectly or backwards compared to a real web master. But I do enjoy learning this new (to me) technology. I know website building is pretty old-hat by now, for the people who really do this stuff, for a living I mean. But it is a new world to me and I enjoy exploring new worlds even if it is tedious. I like being able to look at something I did. Hopefully it is good.
