This is a double experiment.
The first part of the experiment was to take two photos using more or less the same settings and placement with the exception of the lighting modifier. I used my 105mm lens at f5.6 and 1/160sec and one AD200 Pro 2 set on TTL.
The first set of images, I used a silver reflective umbrella to modify the light. These are the same image. The one on the right has been blown up and cropped.
The second set of images, I used a white semi-transparent umbrella. I bounced the light off it just like I did with the reflective umbrella. Again it’s the same image in both cases, just cropped.
The second part of this experiment involves the behavior of my blogging tools. I have spent some time today working on the formatting and templates and layouts and related things. I have had some troubles getting things to do what I want and expect, but I hope I have the set up like I want it now. If it’s not to my liking, I’ll probably leave this post alone for the greater part. But if I need to make adjustments to the settings of my site I will, and that is liable to change everything.
It’s interesting how things are interrelated using these tools of WordPress and Elementor. It’s pretty fascinating to me while at times frustrating. I am enjoying learning though. I think I would rather stick to photography though, and keep my web developing on amateur status for now. This platform may not even be around much longer unfortunately. I have been reading about how the two guys that started WordPress are having disagreements and fighting each other in court and the arena of public opinion. It’s unfortunate that I started using this software because it has been around so long, is used to create a large percentage of of the websites on the web, and is open sourced.
I wonder just how long open source licensees are going to last. It seems once a product gets big enough to make money then things start to get ugly.
